A note on the film : KNOW by Benn Northover

"I chose the song KNOW because of the lyrics. The film is a collection of diaristic observations, all quite moments of traveling alone; a taxi window crossing Brooklyn bridge, an airport landscape at 6am, a motorway tunnel at night, all traveling shots. This was intercut with footage of my sisters new young family in England, who I never see enough. The lyrics " Know that I love you, Know I don't care, Know that I see you, Know I'm not there" resonated very much with me and how I sometimes feel in my life, being in different places, often far away from those I love, sometimes hurting them with my absence.
The film became almost an illustration of a sensation I've often had, of having to always being on the move, always taking the option to travel and work over spending simple time with friends and family, being aware of this, but keeping on moving anyway. The appearance of my dear dog Finn toward the end was a tribute to another of my favourite Nick Drake songs."
